9 | ## Background |
||||||
| 10 | I've always had a fascination with electronics and computing and have owned various 8-bit and 16-bit systems over the years. I've always had a soft spot for the Motorola 6809 and 68000. |

11 | Recently, I stumbled across Mega Micros and liked the look of the 68030 system described there. The board is current at revision 2 ([sbc-2](https://mega-micros.co.uk/68030_sbc-2.htm)), with revision 3 in beta. I contacted the site owner and was lucky enough to purchase an sbc-3beta3 board from him. The board came without CPU, duart, PI/T and memory. In preparing to start playing with the board, I started pulling together as much information as I could find, much of it from the Mega Micros website, but found that there were gaps in my knowledge. I decided to start this wiki, both to capture everything I'm learning, but also in the hope that other users of the boards might find it useful, too. |
